|
Voter registration is rising in Philadelphia.
But turnout has declined.
Between 1980 to 1996:
Philadelphia’s turnout dropped by 182,320-more than 20% Turnout rose in the rest of Pennsylvania by 126,937--up 2.9% National turnout rose by 29,054,000--up 17%.
In 1980, 717,700 Philadelphia residents voted--57.4%. In 1996, only 535,380 people voted--48.5%.
In fact, turnout has declined steadily since 1984.
The statistics speak for themselves.

oxycontin drug test The NonVoters Campaign
will be working on our blocks, in our schools, and through the media to increase Philadelphia’s turnout in November by at least 50,000 votes--roughly 10%.
